A free rider is someone who expects others to pay for the public good but plans to use the good themselves. Are there free riders on OER? After reading about the common good, public good, and free riders, I think there are no such things as free riders in OER. The idea of sharing resources and allowing others to use these resources without limitations is the main idea of OER. The invitation is If you're able to participate in OER creations, do not hesitate to get involved! But if you're unable to contribute, you can still benefit from the work of the community and contribute in the future. We shouldn't punish people for being unable to contribute in the way someone else expects.
