The use of social media for education

It is extremely valuable for professors to utilize social media to connect with students, notify them, and teach them. Twitter is one of the most popular social media platforms. Throughout the COVID shutdown, Twitter usage has increased significantly, with a clear increase in engagement on both sides. Additionally, some educators and students rely on Facebook to discuss assignments and build relationships. It is becoming increasingly common for professors to use social media in their classrooms. This makes it particularly crucial to understand the appropriate and effective ways to incorporate this technology to improve students' performance.

Both students and instructors should be able to use these platforms freely without being penalized. Social media platforms have many advantages for students, for example, allowing students to showcase their work, networking, and enabling better student engagement. Of course, there are other concerns related to the use of social media platforms among students, such as privacy concerns, too much information, and misinformation. Although social media can have some negative effects, I believe it has more benefits that can help students, so it is nice that professors are using social media in their classrooms to encourage student engagement.
