OER Books = Students' Saving

This week in my OER class, we read an article called "A New Method for Estimating OER Savings" by Nyamweya. The author found that each student saves an average of $ 116 per class on books. If you have four types, you keep 464 each semester, which could be almost 1000 dollars annually. This is a lot of money for students struggling to pay their tuition. I'm lucky to be in a graduate program related to technology (tech books are expensive) where all of the professors use some OER resources to teach their classes. This has been a significant financial relief for me. I have three children, and I need to pay for extra activities and classes to keep my kids busy while studying. My university and most universities don't offer affordable childcare services to help moms who return to school accomplish their goals. Also, I love OER books. It seems to be more appealing to me. So, if you can create and offer your students OER books, please do so. It is a big help for us.
